Visa Information

The conference committee will provide visa letters upon request to accepted candidates. In addition to verifying attendance to the conference, candidates may be asked to sign a visa liability agreement. Please note that participants are responsible for fulfilling the visa procedure according to their home country’s rules and regulations in connection to entering France. Getting to the Conference Venue

The 2016 AGS Graduate Student Conference will be held at:

American Graduate School in Paris
Alliance Française Building
101, Boulevard Raspail
75006 Paris, France

The following means of transport are the best way to arrive at the conference venue on April 21 & 22, 2016:

Arriving by Metro/RER:

  • Line 4 to Metro Station Saint-Placide

  • Line 12 to Metro Station Notre-Dame-des-Champs

  • Line 6 or 13 to Metro Station Montparnasse

  • RER B to Port-Royal

Arriving by bus:

Participants can arrive near the venue by using Bus lines 58, 68, 82, 83, 91, 95, 96

Arriving by air:

  • From CDG: RER B to Port-Royal or Air France Bus #4 to Gare Montparnasse

  • From Orly Airport: Orlyval then RER B to Port-Royal or Orlybus to Denfert-Rochereau

This link by Public Transport organisation RATP provides directions and instructions for traveling from the airports servicing Paris. Both Charles de Gaulle Airport and Orly Airport have taxis, buses, RER (suburban train), and shuttles available for transfer into the city.

Arriving by train:

Those arriving by train can connect directly to many train and bus lines from their arrival station. In addition, once you have arrived in Paris, using the city’s public transportation is easy and cost-effective. The following link provides an interactive map of all Paris public transportations:

Accommodation in the Paris Region

Inexpensive and convenient accommodations can be found both near the conference venue and in iconic locations throughout the city. Conference planners recommend making arrangements for accommodation before arriving in Paris for the event. The following information can be useful for making your arrangements.

Many useful websites can be used to find accommodations specific to participant’s needs and interests. Please refer to the following general search engine sites to find specific listings based on location, price and availability.
